Shaft seal replacement - 1992 Tohatsu 5hp

Hello,<br />I have the new seal kit in hand and the lower shaft/gear assembly removed, but can't figure out how to remove the shaft from the gears. Are there any diagrams on the web? ... nobody in Phoenix stocks manuals.<br />Thank you!<br />Tom

Thanks for the response, Elvin. Mine are definitely not sliding off. I removed the punch pin, took off what I assume would be the clutch dog, but other than a a very small bit of free play the gears don't want to slide. I tried a light bit of persuasion w/ a rubber mallet, but no luck. Are they pressed on when manufactured? I found your online sight - will probably order a service manual on Monday.<br />Tom

No, they just slide off...Gently persuade them.
