Hey all, this has been the first weekend that I have run her full out and I have found that the stock 11 1/4x13 prop, WOT, will run about 6500 rpm. I stopped at 6000rpm and figure I had about another 1/2" to go. A Honda marina sugested a 10"x16 pitch alu. prop to lower the rpm's. I tried a 11 1/8x14 and it lowered the WOT to 6000rpms but that was with full trim down. When I trimed the motor up , even a little, it started to climb over 6000 again. One solution I thought was to use the stock prop and put a stop on the throttle to prevent possible over reving? Would it harm the engine any to just never run it full throttle (or the last inch of it) or will that effect the HP output? The large plate (cavitaion?), just above the prop is exactly even with the bottom of the boat and the motor is in it's lowest mounting position. The boat is a KMV 480, a 16' fiberglass center console, 800 lbs empty with an average load of 350 lbs. of people and gear. Does the 16 pitch sound to agressive? Any help or advise would be appreciated. Don
