Does anyone know how the extra 15 horsepower is achecived by the Honda BF130 over the Honda BF115, it seems to an exact match in specifications. I was wondering if there is a way to get the extra 15 HP out of the BF115? I have asked several service men and they seem not know either.

Thanks for any info :D

Re: Honda BF115 and Honda BF130 Horsepower

the 115 and 130 are virtually alike in appearance, however the ecu is mapped differently controlling the engine. there is also some difference in the throttlebody sensor resistance which the ecu would recognize as either a 115 or 130. having been to honda school a few years i asked the same question. i tried to swap around some parts between the 2 motors and could not get the 115 to make 130 horses........good luck

Yo Godzila,
The change is in the throttle body. If you buy a throttle body with TPS for a 130 and place it on your 115 you have now become a 130. If you look at the WOT position of a 115 to a 130 you will see the difference. Better yet, Sell it and get a BF150 with VTEC and have some fun....
