Honda 50hp four stroke beeping from control panel

I have a Honda 50hp 4 stroke outboard. I am not sure of the year, but I assume it is a 2000 or newer (silver engine cover which says Honda 4 Stroke). When I run the engine I am getting a beeping sound from the control panel area. This engine is on a 17' Carolina Skiff with a center console. I can see water coming out of the pee hole in the rear, so it appears the water pump is working. If I increase the speed of the engine the beeping stops, but returns when I go to lower RPM's . I checked the oil dip stick on the engine and noticed it is above the high mark on the dip stick. Is it possible that there is too much oil in the engine? Any help appreciated.

The honda will bleep if:<br /><br />Low oil pressure (green light should always be on.<br />Overheating Orange light will be on<br />Trimmed up too much, will start bleeping as you accelerate over cetain revs. Check sender is working even if you do not have a trim gauge fitted. Mat Kirby

Beacon, My BF was doing samething it was the trim gage under motor took it off. Unpluged it under motor cover took off gage two 10mm bolts. The only thing you loose is trim gage. Hope this helps Mark

Mark thanks, where is the trim gauge located? Or what does it look like, thanks again. Was the green lite on on your control panel also?

Trim sender is on port side, it has 3 wire going to it. As the motor gets trimmed down, the leg touches a lever. It is black held on by 2 bolts.
