2004 Honda 20hp electric/remote

anybody else out there with this particular engine 15/20hp.. Are you having any starting problems with the electric choke and fast idle - as there are no adjustments for these. what do you do about it? Honda and their service support is no help at all.

The 2004 BF20 has an automatic choke which consists of, in part, a thermal heater on the carburetor. Others have had trouble with this heater as discussed on a previous thread. Seems like the fix is to take it back to the dealer for replacement. Note that it's been pointed out that you should not use the fast idle lever during cold starts; the automatic choke should by itself give first-time starts. Good luck.

most of time gives first-time starts, goes into somewhat of a fast idle (not smooth) then comes down to regular idle and stalls out. If lucky it will restart after 4 or 5 times.
