1992 tohatsu 5 hp lower unit replacement

i have this lil 5 hp that i just replaced impellar/ water pump kit and i cant get the lower unit back on for the life of me... are there lil secrets i should look out for..?<br /><br />i took the drive shaft and i can put it in by itself( i have spares) BUT IF I TRY THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLED LOWER UNIT I GET TO ABout 2 inches away and it wont go any further...... what am i missing

just had to keep wigglin it till i got the drive shaft in the right hole
