Hey guys,

For an engine that is used for light pleasure boating, what is the recommended replacement interval for the impeller? I know I could just play it safe and do it every year, but would every two years be OK? Its it a big deal to do it yourself?

Thanks

- Mike

Re: Honda 130 - Impeller Replacement?

I think every two years would be just fine, unless you run it to some bad sand or silt and tear it up you should be fine. I just changed a impeller on my fathers 1980 rude 20Hp and yes it was the original that came with the motor, lets just say it did fail but he caught it in time. Yes you can do it yourself just get a good manual and follow it, after the first 6, 10 or 20 years you will be able to do it without the manual. and being a Honda it should be around for the next 40 years or so.
