old honda 4 stroke B100L impeller replacing

I have read a previous post re this.<br />I don't know how to disconnect the shift stick.<br />I assume it comes off at the gearshift handle on top and then slides out with the lower assembly. <br />I can see a pin with a very small pin that looks like a cotter pin. Is that it? I don't have a manual. <br />Can anyone tell from the serial number how old this engine is? B100L 1705073

Remove the cotter-pin (some models have a rectifier in the way of the pin sliding out sideways, and also the detent arm, 10 millimeter bolt) count the number of turns to bottom out the upper connector on the shift shaft (that way you can be certin of the correct linkage height when re-installing)remove the lower bolts (five, I believe) and there's the water pump.
