My dad and I are contemplating buying a C-Dory with a 1996 honda 35 on it .It's been sitting for a few years and when we started it up fuel just leaked from the 3 carbs like crazy. The engine has probably less than 40 hours on it . How much trouble would it be to take apart the carbs and adjust them. I have taken the carbs on my 40 Evinrude apart with success and would like to know what I would be getting into.

Fuel just leaked??!! This is a semi-wild guess but I would say that the needle valves are stuck open. Happened to me on an old OMC that sat for many years (only it stuck closed). Go get a manual!!

On any OB 4stroke or 2stroke that has sat for more than 1 year I would check the compression, and if you buy it I would rebuild the carbs and replace the impeller as a matter of course.
