the honda factory trim and tilt has a part at the base that is corroded thru and leaking pink fluid (no longer functional). The SF Bay Area dealer I took it to said that while most of the parts are OK, it would be cheaper to replace the whole unit ($1600 part plus $600 labor estimated...gag). Question: how likely is it that I can find a used honda 4s that is blown and just by the used trim and tilt unit? Does anyone know if an aftermarket unit could work? Does anyone think that I am getting jerked around? How hard could it be to take this unit apart and replace just one or two parts? Thanks in advance.
