I'm looking at a 15hp 4 stroke honda for a kicker for my 25' sunray. It is a 2001, used last season for an oysterr fisherman who used it to get to his oyster beds. He's selling it for $1400 (US). If the motor is in good shape...is this a good buy. I'd have it looked at before I purchase it. Oh yeah, it's long shaft.

I'd say that's a fair price, as it is $400.00-$600.00 below NADA prices. Just be sure to have it checked out and you should be good to go.

If this guy is an oyster grower, you can be sure that this engine has seen it's share of impact damage , that ,and the fact that this thing probably has some hours on it.Big things would be the apearrance of the gear oil and a leakdown test on the engine.
