Hello all. Getting mixed advice on winterizing a honda 4 stroke. owners manual says to drain carbs & squirt fogging oil into cylinders. dealer says just put stabilizer in gas tank. I plan to use boat until it gets very cold so layup will probably be a little over 2 months. Boat stored on trailer outdoors. Thanks for any advice.

The winterization process outlined in your manual was written to assure the best protection in the worse case scenario. Seeing that your engine will be outside during it's down time...and also if warranty is an issue, you may want to consider giving it the full winterization treatment. Too bad you can't store it indoors... If so, then I'd tend to agree that simply stabilizing the fuel in the engine would be adequate. Most folks will agree that your fuel tank should be stored empty however.

Walt

Hey... I forgot to add that you should also change the engine oil/filter & gear lube before you put her to bed.

Walt
