90 Nissan lower unit question

I am picking up a 90 Nissan with a bad lower unit casing on it and was wondering if any other models would fit. I have access to a tohatsu 140. Will this bolt up? I have read through the service manuals and there's lots of similarities with the 2 lowers but can't tell if it'll bolt right up and work. If not, is the casing the same since that's what's bad on mine and I could switch the gears over? Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it a TLDI, or NS90A? Those gear cases interchange. Also the 115 TLDI., and 2-strokes through 140.

The TLDI 90 runs a 2.33:1 lower while the NS90a runs a 2.0:1. The 140 carb motor runs a 2.0:1 as well. Didn't know if they were the exact same or same casing and could switch the internals over or if it was just drive shaft difference and could switch it

Still wondering this. Have a 115 and 140 2 stroke tohatsus, both late 90s models that I have access to for parts. Will the lowers fit my 90?

Not until I buy one of the motors for parts will they let me pull the lower unit off. The exterior dimensions are all the same so I guess the only real unknown is the driveshaft

Did a spare parts research came up with these drive shaft codes :

L DRIVE SHAFT 90A
3B7-64302-0

L DRIVE SHAFT 115-140 A2 Models
3C7-64302-2

By code apparently are different drive shaft parts, but in reality who knows ? Paul must know for sure for an appropriate tech answer..

Well I guess if nothing else I can swap the driveshafts in the lowers

Went ahead and bit the bullet and bought one of the parts motors and just pulled the lower. Driveshaft looks to be about 1/4" longer and the longer part is all splined
