Hi I'm working on a 1999 Honda BF130 4 stroke EFI motor. The problem is when it starts up and idles fine but as soon a you shift it into gear it shuts down like turning the key off. It has a top mount control I took that apart on the inside there's a micro switch with 2 brown wires. If I disconnect the switch it shifts into gear and doesn't stall. I have replaced the switch and adjusted the shift linkage as per the factory Honda Manual that I do have with no change. The wiring diagrams in the manual do not show the micro switch in the shifter only the neutral safety switch on the shift linkage under the engine cowl. My question is does any body know how that switch is wired and how it supposed to work. I traces the brown wires down from the shifter to where they go under the floor of the boat. they don't come out the back. Any thoughts, suggestion, Something I'm missing? Thank you
