Nissan 3.5hp

Just bought a used Nissan 3.5Ahp motor. Want to change-out the spark plug, water-pump(impeller) before i take it out on the water. PO said it is a air-cool engine but i think it is water-cool but whatever when starting the motor it stars in gear(direct drive?) there is no F-N-R gear. My question is there a impeller in the shaft or behind the prop? I'm used to larger motors when changing the water pump. Thanks for any help/advice.

PO was mistaken (or just an idiot). The water pump runs on the prop shaft. [h=5]IMPELLER : 2.5/3.5A 2-STROKE[/h]

Thanks Paul for the info. Gap setting would be .04 on that plug?

Check your owners manual, available online at nissanmarine.com. Spec is 1.0 mm. Thats about 0.040". There is usually a sticker on the motor showing that.
