Chrysler Tachometer - Read Error

Hi Folks,

I have just replaced my Chrysler 1974 75HP with a 1974 120HP and the tachometer (original Chrysler) is reading high - around 4000 instead of 1000.

Any ideas?

The 75Hp ia a 3 cyl. engine and the 120Hp a 4 cyl. Factorymade Chrysler tacho has a switch for setting 2,3 or 4 cyl.
It is on the back of the tacho if it is the tacho from the 70.s (I have one of my own).

On the back of the tach there should be a screw with numbers. Set the screw to 12 since your motor is a 12 pole setting and it should straighten out.
