70hp force fuel pump

I bought a Jason 1570 FS came with a 70HP Force outboard the last owner ran a tank of ethlonal fuel and it started having carb problems. I bought a new carb put it on. It started right up then fuel started coming out of the carb. The fuel pump is pushing to much fuel pressure to the carb. To test this I put the fuel in a gas can and gravity fed the fuel to the carb and it ran good. I still need to set the new carb so do I need to rebuild the fuel pump or do I need to check some thing else on motor. I have a shop manual but would like to find an owners manual so if you can help thank you.

I would check the float setting in that new carb.

Fuel pump cannot push too much fuel.
Problem is in the carb.

Ethanol is known to deterioate(sp) fuel line internals. Probably some debris fouling the needle/seat connection.

Walmart, auto section, fuel filter G2 or G3 or G12
Install before the pump.
Clean the carb.

When you have the carb off look inside at the reeds for broken, missing or bent reeds.
They can have a small opening .010 or so but not much more.

Set the air screw at 1 and 1/8th turn for initial adjustment.
