Hello, my name is Jim; a new member and first time posting.

I recently purchased a trophy with twin Force 120 motors. 1990 model (H1201X90B). I bought it site unseen and know there were some problems but nothing major. It needed a new choke solenoid on the port engine so I replaced it. I replaced all the fuses on the fuse panel as the boat had been dormant for few years. Now, I am tackling the trim and tilt section and I noticed that the piston and rod on the shock absorber is slightly bent.
Does anyone know where I can go to find a replacement? I searched the usual parts sites, iboat.net, ishopmarine.com, ebay but none available. I suspect I will have to pay $000 since parts are not made anymore but I hoping there would be used or rebuilt one out there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Jim

I see the Tilt and trim units on the auction sites from time to time. You just have to be patient. If you post a picture of the Tilt & Trim unit, it may be helpful since there are several variations.

E-bay or CL and buying a used outboard is about the only place to buy.
The 150/125/120/90/85 T/T used the same parts for a LOT of years.
