15 Horsepower Gamefisher Force question

This is a 96 model Force Chrysler engine I bought used and I just replaced the head gasket. There is a rubber insert in the housing that the thermostat goes through and I can't find one anywhere. My question is what to do because mine is broken in two? Can someone help me?

I have that washer, Franz did not have the part I needed, that number is 823694 it is inside the housing about 5 inches long with a hole the thermostat goes through. I do not even know what it is for.

I have a second problem, my motor will not pump water, I have replaced the water pump impeller and flushed the cooling system and still no water. I can blow through the thermostat hole and lots of air comes out the bottom.

I would never believed a new impeller with no visible problems would be bad, but I replaced it and now things are working great! What a relief!:happy:
