hi and how are you. i bought a powerhead . the seller listed it as 1997 force 120HP . when i received the powerhead it did not come with a flywheel. I am struggling to buy a flywheel and to know the correct flywheel numbers.

here are all the number printed on the powerhead and stickers

4081A46
GA6191200
826196A31
FO-1997
070896
0033562

i bought powerhead to replace my broken 1995 force 120HP . the flywheel from the broken powerhead doesn't fit the 1997 powerhead. the crankshaft is too big for the flywheel to drop in.

can the flywheel be resize?

where can i find and buy a used flywheel ?

thank you

if anyone has a 1996-1999 120 force engine pls send me pictures of your electric set up and mounting location on both side pls.

thank you

The part number for your flywheel is 817494A2 which is also used on 91~94 120 HP up to your model 95 but never later. They are still available on online stores for about $250 each brand new.

Ok but how come the flywheel on my old powerhead doesn't fit on this new powerhead. the new powerhead has a big shaft and a smaller nut/bolt and my older broken powerhead has a small shaft and a big nut/bolt

Because yours is a 95 the last year of that flywheel and then the 97 uses a different one as stated above

I guess my English is not as good as I thought. So I am re-phrasing what I said earlier.

"The part number for your flywheel is 817494A2 which is also used on 91~94 120 HP up to your model 95 but never later. This means if you can find a Force 1991 up to 1995 120 HP flywheel it should fit to your motor. They are still available on online stores for about $250 each brand new. However, if you decide to use a flywheel from a later model, i.e. 1996 and above, or just like you mentioned one from a 1997, then IT WILL NOT FIT!!!"

This is the best way I can explain it unless we go verbal and actually go in front of the two motors in question. I hope this helps to answer your question why the 1997 flywheel will not fit your 1995 motor.

ok i understand but i am swaping from a 1995 powerhead to a 1997 powerhead.

my 1995 powerhead is broken and need to be rebuilt that is why i bought a powerhead. the new powerhead i bought is a 1997 and it did not come with a flywheel that is why i am looking for a flywheel for the 1997 powerhead.

OK, so you are actually looking for a '97 flywheel. In that case, here's the part number, 859236T14 and it costs between $450~ $600 brand new. I believe the full part number is preceded by 261. Thus the original part number is 261-859236T14. google it and you'll find many hits.

According to Boats dot net that is supposed to be the part number for the 97 flywheel but then going to Crowley's it's the above I posted. Why the difference is beyond me. Anyways, I trust the former and it should fit your engine but just make by asking the vendor some details.
