Look at the tachometer on your car. EVEN a V8 will idle at 600 RPM in gear. Your outboard at 700-750 in forward gear in the water will give a reliable idle with not much chance of stalling. Especially important while docking. It is very frustrating to stall and come in to the dock dead stick. Understand, that the pitch of the prop loads the engine. .The higher the pitch, the higher the RPM in neutral needed to acheive a 700 RPM idle in gear. Thus: RPM in neutral, while always higher than RPM under load, means almost nothing.

ok ya I ment I just didn't know that neutral idle be at 1200 rpms I figured neutral be like 600 rpms and then when you put it in gear be 750

as for the prop I have no idea what pitch it is I guessing just the regular one that goes for it

but I cant test it realy the box I built with the wood I had was just wide enough but not good enough to spin the prop really so ill have to get it in the river soon

I got the hi tack gasket spray the red spray and got 1 1/4" long bolts use a lock washer and washer and I just coated the bolts with the thread sealant with PTE on it I did some with anti sieze but did the major with the thread sealant,

hope water stays out,

here is the prop maybe you can tell what the pitch is?? also there is a nick in the blade is it fixable or you need to replace it?? and will it work fine for the rest of seaon

and you can see this is what I did for now to use as a thrust pin I used a 8/32 bolt and 2 nuts and a lock nut and as the bigger nylon nut I forgot to put a bit of lock tight on the threads but its tight on there and I think u can see some thread if not id remove the SS washer between the nut and the castle washer but I think this setup should work instead of paying like 100 bucks usd for the cone and then like 50 for the plastic spline washer
