Installed a tell tale today on my 35hp

did i do this correctly ? did I put the brass fitting in the correct spot ? the reason I ask is prior to doing this the only way i could tell if the impeller was working was a slight spray out of a couple holes in the back of the motor.

That works. Although, I use a straight tube and then an elbow connector so as not to strain the hose and the t-stat housing.
