The engine cranks well. It has 115 compression in both cylinders. Im not sure if bits fuel or spark, It seemed like it tried to fire one time. Any suggestions? How can I check if its getting spark? how can I check fuel/

The "old" way was hold the plug against the block and have someone turn it over.
I use spark testers when I'm checking.
The comp sounds a bit low.
145-155 is more like it.
Maybe a different gauge?
You pulling both plugs as you turn it over?
How many times do you let it spin before you stop?

1. Can you post a full picture of the engine? I have not seen a 40hp Chrysler.
2. Have you pulled the flywheel and checked the points?
3. Have you primed the engine with some premix to see if it will fire or try?
4. Do you have any history as last time started and Etc.?

1. Please post side view Pics with the hood off to see engine?s features. Attached are the two sides of my 1970 35 hp Chrysler.

2. Please include a pic with the complete engine and lower unit showing.

Is there a 40 hp 70’s Chrysler that I have not seen? I see some of the replies, attachments were dropped. I had attached pics of my 1970 35hp Chrysler to compare but it’s not here now. Plus the OP has not replied. A New Learning Curve. LOL

Thanks!
