Hi guys, I have a tilt trim gauge that I picked up from a bloke parting his Chrysler, unfortunately the sender unit was broken when he attempted to get it off the motor. They seem to be rare as hens teeth, could I use a mercury or force sender unit, or won't this work with my Chrysler gauge.

Hey Mick

I reckon Frank will blow me out of the water here, but from what I can tell, the trim sensor should use a simple rheostat...... so I would assume if the voltage is the same, I can't see why you couldn't adapt another sensor, again, I could be completely wrong, but its like using a dash dimmer switch from your HQ Holden in an XB Falcon. That's my 2 cents.....

The sender, any sender is just what Justin said.
If you can get it to mount???
Then it probably will work.
The sender depending on make might be adjustable??

Thanks guys. I was worried about mounting it mainly, but as you say any sender should do it I will just have to watch how they are mounted and check for adjustment.
