As many of you know, I recently bought a 1997 StarCraft with a 1997 Force 40. With a lot of help from folks on this site I got my repairs done and everything is running great, for now. THANK YOU ALL, for helping me. I wanted to pass along something I discovered, A GREAT PAINT MATCH, for the grayish metallic on mine and I'm sure many models. My motor was in great shape visually except for the top of the cover which was worn, scratched, and stained, so I decided to paint it to match the best I could. I am a color specialist, so I figured I'd get a few basic colors and come up with something pretty close. I happened to be at Walmart getting something for the wife, and happened by the spray bomb department, so I thought I'd get a few cans to play with. Immediately I saw Rustoleum 7250 Black Night Metallic and thought "boy that's pretty close." So I got home, gave the cowl top a light sanding with some 500 I had, primed it with some gray primer, and added 3 light coats of this metallic, and three coats of clear. It was a perfect match for my year and model. Now my outboard looks brand new!! So I hope this helps anyone as anal as I am about wanting things to look as good as possible. Thanks to all and have a nice Thanksgiving.
