1983 Force 85HP: what's this wire connect to?

I noticed that this connector next to the fuel pump in the middle isn't connected to anything. Any one know what this is used for?

In the other pics you'll see the choke solenoid that I'm about to clean up with carb cleaner and then test with direct 12v in the hope that I don't have to get another one. I want her to start on command and not only when I have her tilted.

Each of the CD modules is set up to drive two ignition coils. The First CD Modules drives #1 and #2 coils. The second CD module drives #3 coil. I'm not 100% sure but it looks like the extra wire is for the second non-existing 4th coil which is not used in your case since you only have 3 cylinders.

That wire IS for the 4th cyl.
It goes to the 4th coil.
Clean looking motor.
The choke solenoid.
If it's bad?? I might have one?

OK, mystery solved. Thanks for the info guys.

Jerry- I'll do the checking on the choke solenoid once I'm done with my conf. calls by noon.
I was fortunate to find as my first boat to find a clean, freshwater only boat from CA, last owned by a real estate developer who liked to have his things in nice shape and had the pockets to do it. Thanx.
