1972 chrysler 45 hp no thrust

I have went through my lower unit many times, everything looks good and is there. No metal shaving or anything. When the motor ides it will move forward and reverse but when I give it throttle just revs up goes no where. I have tried diff trims and few other things. I am missing something or can something steer me in a direction I need to go.

Do you get good activity at the prop when you throttle? Or! Is this what I feel I hear as a spun hub vs ever having one (a slipping prop). Marking prop/hub and etc and accelerating and checking to see if the marks are still aligned is the test.

what marks being aligned are you talking about. and the prop moves good so I think and once engaged I can turn the prop by hand and the motor turns
