Help, I just bought a 1991 Maxum boat with a 1991 70 HP force motor really cheap ($1200), but it will not engage into forward gear. I have disconected the shifting linkage at the coupling and it goes into neutral and reverse but when I push down into forward gear it feels like it bottoms out but does not move out of neutral. The person I bought it from said it may need the linkage adjusted. But from what I see it can not go down any futher, it feels like it hit bottom. Any sugesstions or help would be greatly appreciated.
