Even though I have the throttle at max, it takes too long for the engine to catch up and actually accelerate, sometimes like 10 to 15 min. But then it's like something kicks in and the motor will finally start to push the boat at the proper speed. Any advice?

Sounds like the fuel's not getting there?
Or the motors dropping a cylinder or 2.
Bad plug,bad coil,bad pack,bad stator.
The fuel system check the diaphram.
Water in the fuel?
Sucking air,or a bad connection is a hose.
Compression/spark test?
Profile? Location? You might be close to someone who can help?

I'm going to check the gaskets under the carb fuel bowls today, also thinking about draining the fuel, I had a lot of water in the hull from a broken hose connection in the rear live well, maybe water got in the tank. Also gonna change the lower unit oil, the guy I bought the motor from said he just did it but you can't trust anyone.
