1994 force 120, how do i flush bleed old oil out of tilt trim pump and rams???

Put a new trim cylinder on the boat and want to flush out old oil with mineral spirits. Not sure how to do it.... Any suggestions? Thanks guys! It's the 2 wire system.... I want to flush the pump and tilt trim rams completely.

Don't try the mneral oil.
If you use 30wt flush it with 30wt.


Fill it with new oil.
Then cycle it up and down.
Then loosen the front one or two lines and try to cycle it and pump out the oil.
Do this a few times and the old will be gone..

If the oil is red use Trim/Tilt fluid.
If you had the lines loose you could have blown air through the lines???

1994 is probably the oildyne pump with square mounting base.

just raise engine fully and block securely into place.
disconnect all four oil tubes from pump.
place upside down cup over tips of oil tubes to prevent oil spray mess
lower engine slowly allowing oil to squirt out of tubes and into waiting bucket
remove cup and run pump until it starts to run out of fluid and sputters
reattach everything and fill with iso32 hydraulic oil
avoid atf, it has a tendency to impregnate the trim piston ring and cause it to split.

the only way to get a complete flush is to rebuild the rams.
however, 1994 tilt and shock are not rebuildable.

Ok, thanks. Should I use mineral spirits? I'm pretty sure there was art in there and I put 30w....
