What's the fuel-oil ration for a 1979 Chrysler 75HP outboard? Pretty sure it's 50-1 but want to be positive.

50-1 is right.
Just for GP??
Do a compression/spark test.
Then check the lower unit oil.

Re: 1979 Chrysler 75HP fuel-oil mix ratio

Side question, the previous owner said my boat (1988 Bayliner 1510 Bass) had a 50HP Force on it but the motor died. He took it to a marina where they "modified" the rear end to be able to handle this 1979, 75HP Chrysler. I've read a lot of bad things about Chrysler outboards, are these things basically boat anchors?

I've had Chrysler Forces for 24 years and have no problem with them.
Just keep the water out of the gas and make sure the air screws are set right.
No sandbars.
It should last as long as you take care of it.
