Replacing water pump impeller on 1984 125HP Force Outboard

Do you have to remove the lower unit oil before dropping the lower unit to work on the water pump or is the oil self contained in the lower unit and I can drop the lower unit to replace the water pump impeller without changing the lower unit oil?

It's the latter. No need to drain oil it is separately contained. There is a sticky (permanent forum posts the top two in the main Force Forum) for changing impeller. You can't get more detailed than what was posted.

Thanks Jiggz. That is what I thought but wanted to make sure. Thanks for the tip on the water impeller replacement sticky. I will check that out.
