55 hp chrysler model number location

Can anyone tell me where to find the model and serial number on my 55 hp chrysler? I found a number stamped in the engine K878855 but that does not seem to match any model numbers I have seen online. Thank you.

I have a Chrysler 55 also. I can't find the serial number. Where did you find it?

If you have a 55Hp singel carb engine there should be an Id.tag plate in the lower cowl just infront of the carb. If you have a 55Hp twin carb engine the Id.tag should be rivet on the powerhead near the lower cowl/leg.

Still can't find it. No plate riveted on cowl.

Well, okey post pics of the engine, specilly the hood then I maybe will be able to help.

its on the inside of the bottom cowl almost right where the lock comes up..
