55 hp chrysler

My son in law was givin a patio boat.
It don't run of course.
55 HP Chrysler, 557HD, tells me it is 55 hp salt water engine. Serial # 1626, I could not find anything on that.
any way one loose purple/white stripe wire near coil, but does not reach anything for connection.
Any suggestions?
