I have an issue with the steering cable. I need to know what length of cable to get for my bayliner Capri 1802. I have looked at the tele flex cable but cannot find a length listed on it. I have to remove to motor to replace and want order before I get it removed.
Thanks.

I think(?????) the #'s you need are on the steering wheel end.
They ARE there, you just gotta look!!!!
You can also ask at a Bayliner dealer.Or even at the factory.
Look up bayliner .com and try to find customer care.
http://www. bayliner customercare .com/ remove the spaces

Re: Stiff steering bayliner / 120 force

I spoke to a rep at Teleflex and was informed there is a stamp on the cable just as you said.
There are some cases where that number is not longer visable.
The process to get the correct length is to measure the cable it self excluding the rack and push rod.
Then add 30" to the cable ie. 14 feet of black cable = 168 inches + 30 inches = 198 inches / 12 = 16.50 or 17ft cable.

Side note: to remove the cable you must remove the motor or as i did remove 3 of the 4 bolts and angle the motor to
line up with the hole where the cable feeds throught.
