Greetings All,

I have a 1998 40HP Force/Tracker on my pontoon boat. I'd like to rebuild the fuel pump but have never done it. Looking for any tips or "gotchas" to use or avoid -as the case may be. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nels

Mercury fuel pump--dirt simple--a first for Merc-- Nothing special. The rebuild kit comes with all the parts plus extras for different pumps AND instructions. Should take you all of 15 minutes--oh, OK---25 minutes if you have never done it before.

Just take a photo before starting because it is possible to install the pump 180 degrees off.

Just make sure you don't bend the little pieces of plastic or plastic washers.J
