Looks like about a 1988 - 1990 85HP Force

Need the model or serial number for your motor. Should be on the transom mount bracket.

My guess is 89 1/2 - 90 90 hp Merc force?

According to what I found on the 719518 model number, I agree. Im showing 1990 90hp force.

Im no expert but take it for what its worth :)

Doesn't matter! Except for very early Chryslers, ALL three and four cylinder Chrysler and Force engines used the same starter. So pick a year and order a starter.

And please don't call her a hog. You will hurt her feelings and she will never run right for you. LOL

hee hee thanks for all the info, unfortunately i need to get a trim pump also does anybody know a part number or good brand???
got a good boat with a non running motor so hopefully these two items will get me out on the gulf of mexico with the wife and kids..

You really don't need a starter. In a pinch these engines can be rope started. A cold engine may need some prime squirted into the carbs but they will start and run with the ignition key on. So, there is no need to get stuck on the water with a bad starter or solenoid. Here's a four cylinder 125 that I rope start every once in a while just to prove that I can still do it.

From the looks of the exhaust side plate.It's an 89/90.
Look on e-bay starters go anywhere from 20-179$
There are a couple of companies(on e-bay) that sell used parts for more than they cost new!!!
Just look around.
There is a bottom bracket that is needed to hold the bottom of the starter.
Before you spend a lot of money get a starter and check compression and spark.
