Hello,

I recently bought a 1994 Force 70 hp. I am attempting to convert my boat from a 9.9 johnson to this new "to me" Force 70 hp. I am having a hard time finding a replacement steering linkage. Does anyone know the correct length I need or where I can find it?

Thanks in advance!

Re: 1994 Force 70 steering linkage

Welcome to iboats Sputs.

I can't find a part number anywhere.

This one "looks" like the one on my 70 Force.

Sold that boat, so I can't go measure it for you.

He does have a phone number in the add, so you can call him.

I am pretty sure that the drag link for the 85 hp, 120 hp, 125 hp, 150 hp, will NOT work.

Maybe a Mercury dealer can find the part number for you.

Re: 1994 Force 70 steering linkage

Thanks Roscoe.

I'll try giving him a call. I did a quick measurement and it seems to be around 10.5" from bolt to bolt. But, since steering is quite important, I'd like to get the linkage that is designed for that motor.

I guess if that fails, I'll try to contact a Mercury dealer.

Thanks again!
