Hello after using this forum to gather info on how to rewind the starter (which was a success) I'd like to see if anyone would have any info on
replacement parts that seem to be obsolete on internet site with microfiche diagrams. I am looking for a new center spring retainer
(part # F286737 1)... whole new starter if anyone has one they would like to sell! my problem is not the spring itself, its the piece below the
spring that holds the wind, (which has broke) would there be anything that may be compatible or supersedes? thanks for your input and help
this is the model number 152F5A

Re: force 15hp trouble finding starter parts.

That piece while obsolete was used on many many pull starters for Chrysler and Force engines. However, the pull starters are probably the most abused part of the engine and good parts are difficult to find even on junkers. Try franzmarine@aol.com Franz is an old Chrysler dealer and usually has parts available. Plus, he knows these engines like the back of his hand.
