Overheated my powerhead and I'm in the process of replacement.
There's a vertical divider plate on the motor leg that meets up with the powerhead seperating the exhaust and the water pickup tube. Is there suppose to be a seal in there for that? Is it common to have exhaust blow by in the section of the motor leg were the water tube/water pump is? It seems like this may have been part of the overheat problem, theres a lot of sand and oil in that section.

Thanks for your help

No paper seal on the thin divider, but it came from the factory with a sealant on it like high temp rtv. That is what I used on my 50, and 55. Clean the surfaces well, put a generous bead on it, put the base paper seal on, and drop the powerhead on.
