I have just purchased 1970 model 55hp chrysler that hadn't been run since last year but wasn't supposed to have anything wrong with it. the motor starts runs great but it will shift into reverse but not into forward when running in water when it is not running it will shift into forward and reverse. I am satisfied that the proper adjustments have been made to the shifting cables. I haven't dropped the lower unit yet but I suspect it maybe the clutch dog is worn or broken I have worked on johnson and evinrude lower units but this is my first chrysler any suggestions would be appretiated
