Greetins All,

1998 Suntracker PB 21 with 40HP ELPT. 5th time on the water for me. Just installed new marine starting battery from FarmFleet. Charged for about 8 hrs on standard 6A\2A charger (soon to get 3 stage charger) Assumed to be fully charged....

For starters, power tilt wouldn't go down. Oh well, switched reays, up is now down . Fine. Shoulda replaced both relays instead of just the one... D'Oh!!

Anyway, boat started and ran fine. Noticed at the get go the the console Volt meter was swinging about 2-3 volts on the scale. Never saw that before. Got much worse during the 4 hour river cruise. Motor ran fine.... During the last half hour tach stopped reading, Hmmm, that's new too.

Docked boat for the day. Tried starting motor to check. Nothing. Horn lights, stereo -OK. No voltage at meter.... Took new batt home threw it on charger to check. Seemed OK at 12.9-13 vdc. At about 80%. Enough to engage starter??

Sorry so long, but anyone have any ideas to check. That swinging meter has me stumped. Could a shorted coil from a tilt relay cause a major draw???

Any help would get greatly appreciated! Thanks...
