I have a Force 50hp outboard and am having trouble finding the year model. The small sticker on the transum mount that has the serial number is not readable. Is there any other way to identify the year?

Sometimes you can narrow it down fairly close if you look at the ignition system and several other things on the motor. Post some pictures of the motor, especially ones with the cover off so we can see the ignition system and the opposite side.

Re: Force 50 year?

looks like a 92-97 but I am not sure and there are much more qualified people on here that can answer with confidence. Anyways that is my guess early to mid ninties, my 88 has the small square one with 4 posts on it and no wire harness. 92-97 had the wire harness molded into it.
