1999 mercury force 75 hp cut wire

I found a cut wire brown with a white stripe . It starts were the wires are hooked to the back of the motor . This wire comes out to the front of the motor on the bottom and its cut there i was wondering if any buddy knows what this wire connects to it has power . So if any one knows about it or has the same motor ypur help wound be appreciated . Thanks

That's usually the trim indicator lead. If you don't have an actual trim gauge, it's not used.

Were would that wire go to. I have trim gauge and its not working

The gauge will have to have a trim sending unit to send the information to the gauge but it is hard to say which wire you are talking about except that is at the back of the engine

Trace the wire back from the gauge to see where it is connected or if it is the one that is cut.

What is your engine s/n?
