Hello, new to the forum and having a little trouble. I'm replacing the shift cable on my engine. I'm having a hard time finding the neutral spot with the cable. I matched the old cable with new and they are exactly identical in length and style. When I hook it up its like the cable is too short and pulls the shift swith out of neutral so it wont start. I can't figure what i'm doing wrong. It seems to pull the control about three inches when hooked up. I would understand if it were a 1/4 inch or so, that could be taken up on the threaded ends. This seems to be excessive. First time doing one of these so I'm sure i'm just doing something goofy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob
