Hi all,

New to boating and to forum. Recently purchased a 1994 Bayliner 1600 w/ Force 70hp. Taken it out a couple of times-no problems. Took it out this past weekend and overheat warning alarm sounded. Noticed a steady stream of water thru "pee-hole" and motor felt relatively cool. Seemed to happen after trolling for about 15-20 minutes. Pulled boat out and noticed oil leaking from prop exhaust. Did overheat warning test-ok. Are problems related or am I dealing with two different issues? Where do I go from here?

Thank you in advance!

Impeller (water pump) may be failing at slower speeds. Change it. Smell the leaking oil. Gas smell= normal unburned fuel. Strong, heavy, burned sort of smell= leaking lower unit. Get it fixed.

Leaking oil had more of a gas smell than burnt. Going to order impeller. Thanks for the help.
