1990 50 hp....what tach?

OK......speaking of tachs and poles and such, for my 1990 50 hp Force O/B. What tach should I be looking to purchase?

I really don't know the pole count of the stator...assuming that's the critical component to consider for selection of a tachometer.....and my Clymer's doesn't mention pole count of the stator of my engine.

Terribly confused.

That motor has a common 12 pole, 6 pulse stator.

I know this is an old forum, but I have a question. You say a common 12 pole, 6 pulse stator. So on the back of the Tach ( international sierra) I would move the calibrator to the 6P for 6 pulse correct?!?
