hi
i have a friend with a 1987 force 50 on a bayliner 14' it has been sitting awhile so i told him we need to service water pump and lower end. I decided before i did to check if water is going though the motor.
So i removed the plastic cross over tube from thermostat housing. When running water (with ear muffs) there is exhaust coming from the thermostat housing.
I removed the housing and checked again and found it was coming out of a bottom hole that the housing covers.
I know water and exhaust mix but is it normal from there or is this a sign of a cracked head or bad head gasket?
