Re: 1996 Force 120 Trim/ Tilt leak

where is the leak?
if it is from top of ram then a cylinder rebuild may fix it. I think if you dig around enough you may find the parts for a cylinder rebuild from mercury dealers. If not then send me a pm. I rebuild a lot of these systems and have all the various seals on hand. If you don't want to do the ram then check with either a local hydraulics shop or ebay for rebuild services.

However, this Mercury single ram system does not do well in saltwater. It develops a real bad case of pitting. If your boat is salt water and the leak is from pits then your only inexpensive option is to wait for the off season and get a used 2000-2005 Mercury single ram from a land-locked mid-western state. If the part comes from a state with oceanfront then avoid it like plague.

Not sure where exactly it is, defintley the ram portion. seems like the bottom...could it just be bad o-rings?

bad orings come out the top.
incorrect assembly come out from where pump manifold meets ram face
saltwater comes out of pinholes in a variety of locations - usually near bottom.
