1983, 75hp Chrysler Starter

I'm looking for information as to where I can find the Bendix replacement for my Prestolite starter (9pin) Part #480955, Type MKW4005. So far have been told obsolete and will need to purchase replacement starter, yeh right somewhere it's out there, just where?

Have a starter rebuild shop close?? They probably have it.Along with the brushes.

If not just get a rebilt one. They are kind of cheep.

Thanks but no luck yet, all say obsolete and not available parts. New replacement only option so far.

Hey, not sure if it would be what you need exactly, but I just saw a bendix repair kit for Chrysler starters on ebay. Search "Chrysler Outboard" and scroll thru the listings you should find it easy enough. Maybe it'll fit and Lady Luck will have smiled upon you!
